Meet The Leadership Team

While God and the Bible are the ultimate authority for Yuma Christian Church, there is a leadership structure to keep the ministry of the church moving correctly. The leadership of YCC has a few integral parts.

First - Elders. YCC is first and foremost an Elder-led church. The Elders provide oversight, vision, and guidance to the corporate side of the church and most importantly the spiritual side of the church.

Second - Pastors. The Pastor provides the leadership and everyday decision-making for the paid staff. The paid staff is made up of full-time and part-time ministry staff.

Ross has served at YCC for the past 7 years. He started his ministry career here as the worship leader in 2017. In 2020, Ross joined the Eldership where he served until January of 2024 when he took over as the Preaching Minister. Ross currently attends Summit Christian College where he is working towards his Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies with an emphasis on preaching and teaching.

Ross' wife Heather is a fourth grade teacher at Morris Elementary School here in Yuma and they have one daughter, Ally.

Dennis and his wife, Jennifer, have three children, Isaiah, Micah, and Samuel. They own and operate a large dairy farm in Washington County. Through the dairy, they minister to all of their employees. They started a church service there several years ago which has blossomed into its own entity and is thriving as YCC's sister church.

Dennis and Jennifer have a heart for children and have dedicated their mornings at YCC to preschool aged children. They are also active with the teenagers of YCC and serve as Youth Leaders.

Brian is married to Keri and they have 4 beautiful girls, Becca, Katlyn, Anna, and Reni. He owns his own construction business, and through that business, he loves to minister to people . Keri is the Principal at our local Elementary school and she is an amazing teacher!

Brian and Keri lead our Elementary Ministry. We love having Brian, Keri and their family serving with us here at YCC.

John Schaffner - Elder / Hebrews

John is married to Roberta and they have 3 grown children and a whole lot of grandchildren. John is a man of many talents. He is an auctioneer, has his own Cowboy Chuckwagon catering business, and is a Cowboy poet. Roberta works part-time at a local flower shop and loves to serve the elderly.

John & Roberta have been serving YCC for many years.
